Both contract workers who were trapped underground after a trench collapsed have been rescued.
The incident happened Tuesday night in Wyandotte in the area of 17th, near Fort & Walnut St.
According to officials, two workers were digging a hole to work on a sewer line when the trench collapsed.
First responders worked for hours to free them. One was easily removed, while the other was stuck for hours. He was flown to a local hospital for treatment.
