Sports Illustrated Resort plans to open in Ann Arbor, making it the first in Michigan.
A proposal for the new $200 million, 16-story resort, which would be located in downtown AnnArbor, was proposed during the city council meeting on Tuesday.
The hotel would have a food hall, ballroom, basketball court, conference space, rooftop restaurant, rooftop outdoor fitness, condos, basketball court, and many Sports Illustrated events will be hosted there.
Some Ann Arbor residents spoke out against the proposal, saying they would rather see something else go at 309 S. Ashley, also known as the Kline Lot, like affordable housing. 📸: Lamar Johnson Collaborative
