A man and woman are in police custody following a disturbance call early Friday morning.
The incident happened in the block of Mendota, near Wyoming and Joy Road.
Officers responded to the area for a disturbance call. While officers were on the scene, multiple people were fighting.
According to authorities, as officers were trying to take a man into custody, a woman backed into an officer to try and help him escape.
The officer was struck but is expected to be okay.
The female driver and man were both taken into custody.
