Woman charged in alleged drunk driving crash and pursuit

A 33-year-old woman was charged after she hit two police cars while allegedly driving drunk in Shelby Township.

Officers responded to the area of Ruann and Connies for a vehicle that had struck several parked cars and was still driving around the area.

Shelby Township police officers located the vehicle in question, as the officer was attempting to stop the vehicle the driver of the vehicle rammed the patrol car, police said.

A second patrol vehicle and officer intervened, and the driver struck that patrol vehicle as well. Attempting to flee, the suspect drove aggressively toward citizens, who jumped out of the way to avoid being hit.

The driver then started to drive through back yards attempting to elude the officers before it struck a post coming to a stop.

Officers conducted field sobriety test and then offered Forsyth a PBT. The PBT resulted in a .25 at that time (double the legal limit).

Madison Forsyth was arraigned at 41-A District Court Shelby Township in front of Magistrate Verploeg on Felonious Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, Flee and Elude, and Operating While Intoxicated.

She was released from custody after posting $500.
