A 23-year-old woman is facing a felony charge after allegedly beating a woman in her 70s with a brick during a violent attack outside the victim’s home.
Keona Danee Sanders was arraigned on April 22, 2025, and charged with Assault with Intent to Do Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder.
According to prosecutors, the attack began over a dispute involving the victim’s granddaughter, who had reportedly given out someone’s phone number. Sanders and another woman allegedly went to the victim’s home. While there, one of the women is accused of firing shot at the house while people — including children — were inside.
Sanders is accused of walking up to the front door and attacking the woman with a brick. The victim, who is in her 70s (not the suspects grandmother), suffered a black eye, facial swelling, a bruised lip, and trouble breathing.
Prosecutors said Sanders returned to the home a second time after the initial attack. They also said Sanders later posted on social media allegedly bragging about beating the woman.
During the arraignment, prosecutors described the incident as serious and said Sanders poses a danger to the community. Her bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
