Woman charged after inappropriate relationship with 14-year-old boy, having his baby: Prosecutors

A 25-year-old Metro Detroit woman was arraigned this week after a relationship with a 14-year-old boy led to her being pregnant with his child, prosecutors allege.

According to the court arraignment, the two engaged in sexual intercourse on two occasions over a one-month period.

The second encounter resulted in the defendant’s pregnancy, and DNA testing presented at arraignment indicated a high likelihood that the juvenile is the child’s father.

The alleged incident happened when the defendant was 21-years-old and the boy was 14.

The defendant Shawnte Fawne entered a plea of not guilty. She was released on a $100,000 personal bond, lowered from the original cash bond request.

Prosecutors described the conduct as predatory and emphasized the lasting impact on the teenage victim. She faces two counts of CSC third degree.
