Woman arrested after allegedly setting ex-boyfriend’s home on fire, killing mother

A woman was arrested after she allegedly set her ex-boyfriend’s home on fire and killed his mom in Detroit.

The fire happened last night around 11:00 p.m. in the block of Seminole, near I-94 and Van Dyke.

The 30-year-old female suspect was allegedly threatening her ex-boyfriend before the incident. She was then seen at a nearby gas station buying gasoline shortly before the fire at her ex-boyfriend’s home.

The ex-boyfriend was not at the home during the fire, but his mother and two other people were. His 53-year-old mother was killed in the fire, and two other people were hospitalized.

A second house also caught on fire due to the first fire.

This evening, her and a second woman were arrested at a motel in Livonia.
