Vikings spend $2M on tickets to boost fan support in lions matchup at ford field

The Minnesota Vikings reportedly purchased a large amount of tickets ahead of the NFC North showdown against the Detroit Lions, according to Sports Illustrated.

The game, set to take place tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET at Ford Field in Detroit, will determine the division champion and the NFC’s top playoff seed.

To boost their presence in enemy territory, the Vikings purchased nearly $2 million worth of tickets, so their fans have a strong showing at this matchup.

The Vikings organization is behind the purchase, securing approximately 1,900 seats located directly behind the visitor sideline at Ford Field, according to SI. These premium seats typically cost around $1,000 each.

The tickets are not being resold at their original price. Instead, the Vikings are offering them to their fans and stakeholders at heavily discounted rates of $200 to $300 each.

The organization is making these tickets available to team staff, players’ family members, and season ticket holders.

The Detroit Lions reportedly raised concerns, but the NFL confirmed that there are no violations of league rules.
