Video: Suspect in McDonald’s manager murder ranted online prior to incident

A woman accused of fatally stabbing her McDonald’s manager in Eastpointe was captured on video ranting about her job on social media just days before the attack.

The suspect, a 26-year-old employee, has not yet been formally charged, so her identity is being withheld. However, inmate records show she is expected to be arraigned on a charge of first-degree murder.

The attack happened just before 8 a.m. Thursday at the McDonald’s on 9 Mile Road. Police say the suspect had been sent home earlier in her shift following a dispute. She later returned with a knife and stabbed her manager, 39-year-old Jennifer Harris, multiple times in the face.

Harris, a mother of six, was rushed to the hospital but died from her injuries. (More details on the victim in previous post.)

Video obtained by Metro Detroit News shows the suspect angrily venting on social media about her job. In the video, she doesn’t mention any names, but appears frustrated with her working conditions and being sent home early #. Her face and identity are blurred in the clip due to her not yet being charged.

During the attack, a customer inside the restaurant fired a gun in an effort to stop the stabbing. No one was hit, and that same customer held the suspect at the scene until officers arrived.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact Eastpointe police at 586-445-9415.
