Video: Roseville Man Rams Police Car, Charges at Officers With Knife Before Being Shot

New video was released showing the moment a man rammed his car into a Roseville police SUV before being shot by officers outside the Roseville Police Department earlier this month.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. on October 13, 2025, in the north parking lot of the police station. Police say a 36-year-old Roseville man drove his silver Pontiac G5 into a parked patrol car, injuring an officer inside.

When officers came outside to check what happened, the man pulled out a knife and ignored commands to drop it. He then charged at officers, forcing two of them to fire their guns. Seven shots were fired, hitting the suspect six times.

Officers and firefighters gave him medical aid at the scene before he was taken to the hospital, where he’s still in critical condition.

Investigators say they found no reason to charge the officers, calling the shooting justified. The suspect now faces four felony charges.

Sheriff Tony Wickersham said the man’s family mentioned he had mental health issues, but the motive is still unclear.
