New video from Michigan State Police’s Trooper 2 helicopter shows the moment a carjacking suspect ran across the freeway before being tased and arrested.
The chase began in Southwest Detroit, where the suspect reached speeds of up to 100 mph before continuing onto I-96 and then the Southfield Freeway.
It ended on the northbound lanes near W. McNichols after the suspect’s tires blew out and the vehicle caught fire.
Police say a male suspect was arrested. No injuries were reported.
