A suspect was arrested and officers suffered minor injuries following a domestic violence call on Detroit’s west side Sunday afternoon.
Viral social media video captured the incident unfold.
On April 6, 2025, officers from the 10th Precinct responded to a domestic violence incident near Euclid and Linwood.
Police found a victim who said they had been in an altercation with a suspect. Officers began searching the area and later found the suspect near Virginia Park and Linwood.
When officers tried to arrest him, the suspect resisted. A Taser was used but didn’t work. The suspect ran, but officers were able to track him down with help from a K-9 unit, police said.
The suspect was taken into custody. Both officers and the suspect had minor injuries and were treated at a local hospital.
The case is being reviewed by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. The Detroit Police Department’s Professional Standards Bureau is also reviewing the officers’ actions.
