Traffic stop on semi truck driver leads to $16 million worth of cocaine, police say

A traffic stop led police to a major bust in Port Huron.

On October 15, 2024, just after 9:00 pm, a traffic stop was conducted on a semi-tractor trailer on Pinegrove Ave near the Bluewater Bridge, according to St Clair County Sheriff’s office.

During the traffic stop, approximately 370.7 lbs of c.caine were located inside the semi, officials said.

This amounts to around $16.5 million. The suspect is being held at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center awaiting arraignment, police said in a news release.

According to the news release, this was the biggest bust ever in the county’s history. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St Clair County Sheriff’s office.
