Detroit police are investigating after a teen girl was shot at a park on the city’s east side.
The incident occurred Wednesday evening at Wish Egan Field park in the area of 8 Mile & Schoenherr.
Police say teen girls came to the park to fight. During the altercation, a weapon was pulled, and shots were fired. It’s unclear how they connected but authorities believe it may be through social media.
The teen girl was struck in the arm. She is listed in serious condition. Two people have been detained. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detroit Police.
