Taylor Police has added a Robot crime-fighting dog, also known as RADDOG, to their force.
The new device was delivered on Tuesday, March 19. The robotic dog is a situational, defensive tool that gives its user a vision that may not be available without human risk, according to officials.
“It puts us face-to-face with the person or situation without a risk of harm,” Taylor Chief Blair said.“It can act almost like Zoom where you can have interaction without other possible problems.”
Part of this $32,000 agreement involves testing the RADDOG, ideally used in barricade situations, HAZMAT, and other events.
