Syphilis cases spike in Detroit as cases in Michigan Rise

Health officials with the Michigan Health and Human Services are sounding the alarm after seeing a rise in syphilis cases spike across the state and a surge specifically in Detroit.

Syphilis is a bacterial infection usually spread by sexual contact.

Health officials believe cases are rising because fewer people are now visiting the doctors and aren’t being tested.

Some symptoms of Syphilis include rashes, small bumps, or ulcers on your skin.
