A man in his 60s was robbed, tied up, kidnapped, and his car was set on fire in Detroit early Monday morning.
The victim was taken against his will after being confronted by a group of suspects armed with a gun.
The attackers demanded his belongings, ransacked his home located in Southwest Detroit, and forced him into his car.
The suspects then drove him to an empty field on the city’s east side, near Mound Road and 7 Mile, where they set the vehicle on fire.
Witnesses said they heard the man screaming and rushed to pull him from the burning car.
He was found naked and beaten up, but is expected to survive.
Sources tell MDN the victim had recently posted large amounts of money on social media, which may have led the suspects to target him. His wife was also bound at their home but was not physically harmed.
Police continue to investigate. No arrests have been announced.
