Suspect in Henry Ford hospital shooting arrested

Detroit police have arrested the suspect in the Henry Ford Hospital shooting has just been arrested on the city’s east side.

Investigators say 53-year-old Mario Green is accused of fatally shooting his ex-wife Latricia Green while she was working at the hospital’s main campus.

Authorities had launched a manhunt on Friday, later finding his vehicle was discovered abandoned near 8 Mile and Lahser.

After hours of searching, he was arrested during a raid at a home on the east side of Detroit in the area of French & I-94.

“Our officers worked tirelessly to get this monster off the street” said Detroit Police Chief Todd Bettison. “We have the best police department across the country and I would like to thank our law enforcement partners who assisted us in apprehending Mario Green, along with the community who gave us numerous tips about the suspect. No person deserves what happened to Ms. Latricia Green and my heart and prayers go out to her family.”

Court records show that in the past, Green was convicted of aggravated stalking and later served prison time following an arson conviction.

More recently, in July, a Wayne County judge approved a personal protection order against him after determining he posed a threat to his ex-wife. The PPO was originally denied in June.

The approved PPO was unfortunately never officially served.
