Suspect Arrested in Shooting of Businessman Eddie Jawad in Macomb Township

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a local business owner during a shooting this week outside a mansion in Macomb Township, officials confirmed Sunday.

According to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office, deputies along with the MCSO SWAT team, Warren Police Drone Unit, the FBI Violent Crimes and Gang Task Force, and the MCSO Special Enforcement Team executed a search warrant around 5 p.m. Sunday on Rivard Avenue in Warren.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident and is accused of being involved in the October 14 shooting near 24 Mile and Foss Road. Detectives say the arrest follows several days of nonstop investigation, including review of surveillance footage and multiple leads.

The victim, identified as business owner Eddie Jawad, was shot outside his home during the incident. Jawad, who owns several gas stations across southeast Michigan, returned fire during the attack and has since been listed in stable condition.

Anyone with further information or video footage from the area is asked to contact the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office at 586-307-9358.
