Sterling Heights police find alligator under car

Sterling Heights police found a 4 foot alligator under a car Thursday morning.

The discovery was made after a 911 call about a loose alligator on Summit drive, according to a news release.

Professionals from the Reptarium Zoo in Utica were called to capture the gator safely, police say.

Officials are warning people owning a dangerous animal like an alligator is a misdemeanor with a potential fine of up to $500.
