A Spirit Airlines flight was evacuated early Thursday morning at Detroit Metro Airport following a reported bomb threat.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. aboard Spirit Flight 321, an Airbus A321. Passengers were initially boarded and seated when the situation unfolded.
“They had us waiting on the plane, then moved us to the very end of the taxiway to remove us and take us off the plane. We had to get rechecked, and dogs were brought in to sniff everything,” said one passenger who was on board the flight.
K-9 units were also deployed to sweep the aircraft and surrounding areas.
The investigation is ongoing.
