Southfield Man accused of Sexually Assaulting Three family members, Including Drugging One

Southfield Police say 52-year-old Jason Justice, a resident of Southfield, is facing multiple felony charges in connection with two separate sexual assault investigations — with a third case still under review. Police say Justice targeted close family members, and investigators fear there could be more victims.

Southfield Police Chief Elvin Barren called Justice a “sexual predator” during a press briefing and said protecting women and children is the department’s top priority. “Anytime there are individuals that we identify as sexual predators out in our community, the community has to be notified,” Barren said. “That way if there’s any other potential victims, they will have the courage or the ability to come forward.”

According to police, the first case involves a 25-year-old woman who reported she was sexually assaulted while staying at a Southfield residence.

Investigators say that on the evening of September 11, 2025, the victim had been sick for several days when Justice gave her what he claimed was a Tylenol PM. She questioned why he only gave her one pill, but he told her it was extra strength and one was all she needed.

After taking the pill, the victim became extremely tired and texted another family member, saying she was worried she may have taken something foreign. She eventually fell asleep on the living room couch just before midnight.

When she woke up on the morning of September 12, she found herself in a basement bedroom, with her sweatshirt and sweatpants removed and naked from the waist down. She had no memory of how she got to the basement.

The victim texted a trusted relative, who came to pick her up and transported her to Providence Hospital. At the hospital, doctors conducted a urine test and confirmed the presence of a benzodiazepine — a sedative that was not prescribed to her — in her system. She was treated and released.

After returning to the relative’s home, the victim gained access to Justice’s cell phone. While reviewing the phone’s contents, she discovered a photo of her genital area, time-stamped from the night she had been drugged. She also discovered a video lasting one minute and 25 seconds, which she was too afraid to open.

Fearing she had been sexually assaulted, the victim texted the same trusted relative and was taken back to the hospital for additional treatment. This time, she completed a sexual assault kit.

Southfield’s Tactical Crime Suppression Unit located Justice during a surveillance operation on September 14 near Meadowwood and Greenfield and arrested him without incident.

In this case, the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office charged Justice with:

• Capturing/Distributing Image of an Unclothed Person

• Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

He was arraigned on September 16 and given a $150,000 cash or surety bond with GPS tether. His next court date is September 29 at 8:30 a.m. before Judge Nance.

After Justice’s arrest, a second family member came forward on September 18. Detectives say the victim reported multiple incidents involving Justice dating back to October 2021, when she was 14 years old. She said Justice groped her breast at a convenience store and gave her $100.

When she was 16, the victim said Justice offered her money to send him explicit photos and told her to delete their messages. She also recalled an incident when she was a junior in high school when Justice entered her bedroom late at night, sat on her bed, and made sexual comments. She locked the door after he left and eventually moved out of his home to live with another relative.

Justice was charged in this case with:

• Criminal Sexual Conduct – 2nd Degree

• Accosting a Child for Immoral Purposes

• Using a Computer to Commit a Crime

He was arraigned on September 18 and given a $100,000 cash or surety bond with GPS tether. His next court date is September 29 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Arvant.

A third family member, a 15-year-old girl, told investigators that Justice touched her buttocks or breasts, kissed her on the neck, placed his hands in her pants, and offered her money in exchange for sexual contact.

That case remains under active investigation, but police say they expect more charges to be authorized by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office.

Chief Barren noted that Justice’s prior criminal record includes felony forgery, uttering and publishing, drug-related offenses, failing to pay child support, driving while license suspended, and domestic violence.

“Our detectives and patrol officers work tirelessly to bring these cases forward, and we are committed to supporting the victims and pursuing justice,” Barren said. Victims are receiving support services through Haven and other agencies.

Police are asking anyone with information or who may have been victimized by Justice to contact Southfield Police.
