SMART announced that they will be extending route 560 in Macomb County and route 280 in Wayne County starting on January 8.
This expansion strengthens local communities and fosters economic growth by ensuring safe and reliable transportation for more residents and creating greater connectivity for workers and employers.
Marc Werner, Regional Vice President of NorthPoint Development, developer of Romulus Trade Center, emphasized the connectivity of route 280.
SMART’s expansion not only addresses immediate transportation needs but also sets the foundation for a future where mobility serves as a catalyst for growth, collaboration, and progress across southeast Michigan.

In addition to Romulus Trade Center, route 280 will include stops at Romulus Public Library, Metro Airport Center, Concentra Urgent Care, among other significant destinations. With the expansion,
Route 560 will feature key destinations like Henry Ford Health Macomb clinics, New Baltimore Trade Center, Bayside Shopping Plaza, and various other notable locations.
