A lucky player in Detroit is holding a $2 million winning Powerball ticket from Wednesday night’s drawing, according to the Michigan Lottery.
The ticket, purchased at Sunkiss Market on Puritan Street, matched all five white balls for a $1 million prize. With the Power Play option, the winnings were doubled to $2 million. The only number missing was the red Powerball, which would have meant the jackpot.
This marks the second time this week a Michigan ticket has come close to the grand prize. On Monday, a $1 million ticket was sold at a CVS on Detroit’s east side.
The next drawing is Saturday, with the Powerball jackpot climbing to $1.7 billion — the third-largest in U.S. history.
