Reverse vending machine at Detroit’s Campus Martius allows people to give back this holiday season

A reverse vending machine that helps support people in need has been placed in Detroit’s Campus Martius Park.

The Giving Machines lets people donate essential items to local and global charities.

This marks the first time these machines are available in Michigan, and they will remain in place through December 8.

Donors can select items ranging from $5 to $250, including clothing, hygiene products, meals, educational supplies, and emergency shelter.

Since 2017, the Giving Machines have raised over $32 million, providing more than 2 million meals to support families worldwide.
