A man is being held on a $3 million bond after being accused of holding a woman from Georgia against her will at a Southfield hotel.
Chief Elvin Barren of Southfield Police detailed the investigation during a press conference on Monday, just days after the suspect’s arrest.
The suspect, identified as Prenentice Orr, is accused of tra.fficking two women into s— work and traveling with them, according to police.
He was apprehended at a hotel in Southfield after one of the women managed to seek help from a hotel employee.
Chief Barren explained that the victim had been forced to perform acts for money in Georgia, Grand Rapids, and several cities across southeast Michigan. She was told that he was going to take her to Florida for weight loss help, but was instead held against her will for at least two weeks.
He took her phone, ID, and only allowed her to drink coffee and sea moss, according to authorities
Authorities allege that Orr arranged meetings between the victims and clients. His four year old son was in a room next door and was being watched by another victim of his, police said in a news conference.
