Detroit Police are investigating after a 3-month-old baby was found dead in a home on Sunday.
The investigation happened at a home on Corbett Street near Dickerson Avenue and I-94.
The mother woke up and discovered her daughter dead with a shopping bag over her head, according to sources close to the investigation.
The house was occupied by several children at the time. According to sources, one of the children took the baby downstairs while the mother was asleep.
The baby was later discovered dead. It is currently unclear how the bag ended on the infant’s head.
Investigators are interviewing the children (ages ranging up to 12 years old) and gathering information. The investigation is ongoing.
