The Motor City Cruise, the NBA G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, is giving basketball players a shot to make the team.
The Cruise will host open tryouts on Saturday, Sept. 20, at the Henry Ford Detroit Pistons Performance Center (6201 Second Ave, Detroit). The one-day event begins at 1 p.m. and includes two sessions. Players will compete for a possible invitation to the team’s training camp in October.
Participants will go through NBA-level drills and scrimmages in front of the Cruise and Pistons Basketball Operations staff. A Detroit Pistons Legend will also be there to speak with players and offer motivation.
Players must register online at detroit.gleague.nba.com. Everyone who tries out will receive an official Motor City Cruise tryout jersey to keep.
