A pedestrian was fatally struck by an Amtrak train in Royal Oak.
The incident happened on Saturday morning on Main Street between 7th and 6th.
According to police, preliminary investigation determined the man disregarded the crossing signals and was attempting to hurry across the tracks as the train approached. He was struck and rushed to the hospital, where he died.
The road is closed as police investigated.
