Over 20 shots fired during prom lineup event at MLK high school

Police are investigating a shooting at MLK Jr. High School in Detroit Thursday evening.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the school on Lafayette near McDougall at around 8:00 p.m.

According to police, no one was injured during the shooting. There were over 20 shell casings in the parking lot.

We are told students were gathered there for a prom lineup when an altercation occurred which led to a shooting.

The investigation is ongoing.
