A man is dead after being hit by a car Monday night on southbound I-275 near Ford Road.
Michigan State Police say the man had parked his car on the right shoulder, got out, and walked into the lanes of traffic. One driver was able to swerve and avoid him, but a second vehicle hit the man while he was in the middle lane.
Both drivers stayed at the scene and are cooperating with investigators. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the man’s family has not yet been notified. Southbound I-275 remains closed as troopers continue to investigate.
