A Detroit police officer was taken to the hospital after falling through the floor of a vacant home during a foot chase.
The incident happened at a house on Electric Street, near Fort Street and I-75.
Officers were chasing a suspect believed to be armed with a gun when they thought he had run into the vacant home. As they entered the house, the first floor gave way, and one officer fell into the basement.
The officer sustained injuries, including a broken leg. The suspect is still on the run.
