A Detroit police officer has died after a rollover hit-and-run crash on the city’s east side.
The crashes occurred just after midnight Sunday in the area of Hoover & Greiner, near 7 Mile.
The off-duty officer died in the crash after being struck by a suspect in a van who made an improper turn. The driver involved in the crash fled the scene.
The officer just finished his shift and was heading home for the day.
