A former Oakland County Sheriff’s Deputy was charged after allegedly being caught trying to solicit what he thought was an underage girl for sex.
Boopac Shakur, a Pontiac man who works to catch child predators, reported the deputy. Messages between the man who catches child predators and the deputy can be seen above.
“A probationary Oakland County Sheriffs Deputy assigned to the Corrections Division was suspended today without pay after a preliminary investigation of wrongdoing,” Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The Deputy has been employed by the Sheriff’s Office for five months and was assigned to the midnight shift in the Oakland County Jail, officials said. He was later fired after the investigation was complete.
Jared Frederick Salisbury, 33, is charged with one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes, a 4-year felony. He was released from the Oakland County Jail on a $25,000 personal bond set by 52-1 District Court Magistrate Cody R. Ellwanger.
