Oakland County Sheriff: Reported Theft of $34K Mechanical Bull Cover Never Happened

A company’s claim that a $34,000 custom cover for its one-of-a-kind mechanical bull ride was stolen after a weekend event in Pontiac has turned out to be untrue, according to investigators.

Ram had issued a news release saying the custom-made metal cover for its “Bucking HEMI” was taken while being disassembled after Saturday’s Roadkill Nights in downtown Pontiac.

In the statement, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis was quoted as saying, “This is bull***. The search is officially on and we won’t stop searching until we get him back.”

But Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard says the so-called theft never happened.

“The company never actually lost the bull,” Bouchard said. “I find this to be very frustrating and a tremendous waste of valuable investigative time. Now, we’re pivoting to see if a crime was committed by the filing of a false police report.”

Bouchard says the case remains under investigation.
