Oakland County parents charged after allegations of child abuse

A Pontiac couple is facing charges after allegations of child abuse and criminal sexual conduct, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

On January 11th, 2024, a detective from the Pontiac Division was assigned a Child Protective Services Law Enforcement Notification to investigate alleged sexual abuse of children perpetrated by parents within the home.

After an investigation, the father, 44-year-old Patrick Bryan Henke, was placed under arrest, according to a statement by the sheriff’s office.

The mother, 33-year-old Anna Marie Purdy of Pontiac, was interviewed by detectives and confirmed the alleged crimes were perpetrated by Henke. Further investigation by detectives revealed that Purdy was an accessory to the abuse and was taken into custody without incident.

Patrick Henke was arraigned on January 28th before a magistrate of the 52-1 District Court in Novi on the following felony charges issued by the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office:

Criminal Sexual Conduct – 2nd Degree, Child Abuse 2nd Degree, Child Abuse 2nd Degree, Child Sexually Abusive Material – Aggravated Possession, Aggravated Indecent Exposure. Henke’s bond was set at $2,000,000 cash/surety, no 10%.

The mother, Anna Maria Purdy, was also arraigned yesterday on charges of:

Child Abuse – 2nd Degree (Felony), Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor. The bond for Purdy was set at $500,000 cash/surety no 10%.

“The cases that involve violating children are some of the more disgusting and important cases that we deal with,” Sheriff Bouchard said. “These individuals need to be held responsible and the children need and deserve a nurturing environment to begin a healing process.”

Both suspects remain in the Oakland County Jail.
