New Detroit schools program will pay students $2,000 to stay after school & work on reading

Detroit Public Schools Community District is offering high school students the chance to earn $2,000 by attending after-school literacy tutoring.

The program aims to help students improve their reading skills with one-on-one or small group sessions led by trained district staff.

• When: Four days a week, after school (1 hour per session)

• Who: Open to all high school students

• Incentive: $2,000 for participating
