The City of Dearborn and Mayor Abdullah Hammoud have announced a major $1 million renovation project for the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center’s fitness facilities. Starting in August 2024, the center at 15801
Michigan Ave will undergo extensive upgrades, resulting in the temporary shutdown of the workout facility for the entire month.
The planned renovation will introduce state-of-the-art gym equipment, new lighting, and upgraded flooring. Key enhancements include:
• New lighting and upgraded flooring
New lockers and drinking fountains with bottle-filling
stations
Larger TVs and new exercise equipment
Expanded circuit training options on the second floor
A new café in the main lobby offering healthy options, operated by an outside vendor
• State of the art gym equipment
These updates aim to modernize and repurpose the center’s design, enhancing the overall experience for patrons.
