The Warren Police Department is investigating a crash involving a Universal Ambulance that rolled over Monday morning at Hoover Road and 11 Mile.
Police say the crash happened around 9:31 a.m. when the ambulance, running with emergency lights and sirens, entered the intersection at the westbound I-696 Service Drive. A Jeep Cherokee, which had a green light, struck the rear passenger side of the ambulance, causing it to roll over.
The ambulance was carrying two medics and a 55-year-old male patient. All three were taken to the hospital for evaluation, but officials say no serious injuries were reported.
The Jeep was driven by a 33-year-old woman with her 2-year-old son inside. Both were checked by Warren Fire at the scene and were not injured.
Warren Police and Fire responded, along with the department’s Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit. Investigators have not yet determined who was at fault.
Police said they are thankful that no one was seriously hurt.
