Several people are in custody after police responded to a shooting and later pursued a vehicle that crashed near the I-94 and US-23 interchange.
It began around 5:45 p.m. Thursday when Van Buren Township officers were called to a home on Savage Road for reports of shots fired.
The incident led to a chase that ended in a single-vehicle crash. Police say the incident appears to be targeted, and there is no threat to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
