A familiar face from the big screen will help kick off the Detroit Tigers’ 2025 season in a big way.
Actor and comedian Keegan-Michael Key, a Southfield native and proud Detroit sports fan, has been chosen to throw the ceremonial first pitch at the team’s home opener. Key is best known for his work on “Key & Peele” and the sketch comedy series “Mad TV.”
The Tigers are set to take on the Chicago White Sox on Friday, April 4, at Comerica Park. First pitch is scheduled for shortly after the pregame festivities wrap up.
