Under the bill, speed cameras would be activated when drivers exceed the posted speed limit by at least 10 miles per hour in zones where workers are present. For first-time offenders, the system would issue a warning. A second offense would result in a $150 fine, and a third offense within a three-year period would incur a $300 fine.
