Michigan’s gas prices have reached their highest level of the year, climbing 26 cents in a week to an average of $3.26 per gallon for regular unleaded.
The current average is 32 cents higher than last month but 5 cents lower than the same period last year according to AAA.
AAA spokesperson Adrienne Woodland warns that prices could continue to rise if demand grows and crude oil prices climb. Recent data show a rise in gas demand and a decrease in gasoline stocks, contributing to higher pump prices.
