Metro Detroit woman who beat cancer celebrates her 110th birthday

Mary Couch was honored by family, friends, and Oakland county executive Dave Coulter as she celebrated her 110th birthday Friday.

Mary Couch was born in the year of 1912, the same year the titanic sank. She was 5 years old when she moved from Georgia to Michigan.

She worked with equal rights activists such as Rosa Parks throughout her life.

Couch thanks her long life to the lord for blessing her.

Couch was diagnosed with breast cancer at 92 but did not let that stop her.

Couch has 9 children and many grandchildren and even great-grandchildren.
