Manhunt underway for ‘Dangerous’ suspect who escaped garden city hospital

Authorities are asking for the public’s help after a man escaped custody from Garden City Hospital Thursday morning.

The escapee has been identified as Antonio Dewayne Hollingsworth, a 47-year-old Black male, 6 feet tall, 165 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. At the time of his escape, he was wearing a blue T-shirt, black pants, and no shoes. He fled eastbound toward Inkster Road around 11:30 AM on September 4, 2025.

Hollingsworth had been taken into custody after a motorcycle crash that left another person in critical condition. He is also a parole absconder wanted for a robbery conviction. While at the hospital for evaluation after complaining of pain, he managed to escape custody.

The Inkster Police Department, along with partner agencies, is actively searching for Hollingsworth. Officials warn that he should be considered dangerous and urge the public not to approach him.
