Man who pointed Draco at police also charged in a shooting, made social media rap song about it

A Detroit man who allegedly pointed a Draco at Detroit police officers has been charged, authorities said on Friday.

The suspect reportedly filmed himself and posted the video on social media, prosecutors said. He even revealed his face toward the end of the video.

Imari Perry has been charged with several felonies, including charges related to a shooting he was allegedly involved in at a gas station in October, 2024.

The Wayne County Prosecutor stated that after the shooting, Perry created a rap song referencing the incident. Some of the lyrics in his recent posts include: “We going to hit them with that fully” and “Watch them hollows hit.”

He pleaded not guilty, and his defense attorney denied the allegations. He says the rap video was free speech and the Draco was not real. He was given a $500,000 cash bond.
