Man rushed to hospital after being hit by car While fixing flat Tire on Southfield Freeway

Michigan State Police have shut down parts of the Southfield Freeway following a pedestrian crash.

The crash occurred Tuesday evening on the Southfield Freeway near Fenkell.

According to witnesses, the man had a flat tire. He exited his vehicle to change the tire and was struck by an alleged speeding vehicle.

The man was rushed to the hospital. His condition remains unknown at this time.

The driver of the Chevy that struck the pedestrian, a 52-year-old male from Plymouth was interviewed and it was determined that he showed signs of impairment. He was arrested and transported to a local hospital for a blood draw. Investigation is continuing.
