A man is dead and a trooper is injured after a traffic stop in Detroit.
The incident occurred on the Lodge Freeway & Wyoming area on Friday evening.
According to State Police, a trooper was conducting a traffic stop for a traffic violation when he and the suspect got into a struggle on the ground.
The suspect then shot the trooper, police said. The trooper returned fire, fatally striking the suspect.
Police identified the suspect as a 41-year-old man from Highland Park. A weapon was recovered from the scene.
The trooper is listed in stable condition.
