Man fatally Shoots His Child’s Mom’s new Fiancé During Custody Exchange Dispute

Detroit police are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another injured during a child-custody exchange.

The incident happened Sunday evening at an apartment complex on Delaware Street near Woodward Avenue and Grand Boulevard.

Investigators say an argument broke out between the child’s father and the mother’s new fiancé during the exchange.

According to police, the fiancé, who is in his 20s, was fatally shot by the child’s father.

A third person who witnessed the dispute then shot the child’s father, who is now listed in stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing.
