A man has been arrested after allegedly driving by and firing shots at Detroit police officers who were already investigating a shooting.
The incident happened in the block of Vaughan, near Evergreen & W. Chicago Wednesday night going into Thursday.
Police say two women who were neighbors were having a dispute over getting their hair done. It escalated when it turned into a shots-fired incident. A rusted Dodge Avengers was seen leaving the area after the shooting.
Police got to the scene, separated the two women, and collected the shell casings. They then left the scene.
An hour later, police got another 911 call about the women fighting again. They got to the home, and as they were talking to the women, the driver of a blue pickup truck drove by and fired shots at officers.
The man then tries to leave but loses control and bails out on foot. Police chased him, and he was eventually taken into custody. A gun was also recovered.
At this time, it’s unknown on why he randomly fired the shots in the direction of the officers. No one was injured and there doesn’t appear to be a connection between the women and the shooter.
